What a name I have!
Well... I have done it a few times before, but I was reading digg today and stumbled on this article about Finding your "Google Twin", meaning going to google, type in your name and read the results. Like I said... I have done this before, but I guess I never really paid attention to the results until today. After extensive research, I have found out that there are a least 1,910,000 references to Kenneth Ross on the Internet, and the top two are both math professors. Crazy huh? I am not too far behind... my site is ranked 9th on the list :) Yeah that's right, top 10 baby!! Check it out for yourself if you want

On a more personal note... I did google my girlfriend's name and there are only 10,500 references... The first two actually mention her!! I am soo proud. She is truly one of a kind... and I like her a lot :)

Apple Headaches
So... I have had some trying times with the Apple support lately, which is a surprise to me. I have had nothing but good experiences with Apple Care until now, but all of that changed this week. I have had to go to the Apple Store twice to get support on fixing my issues with my battery and power adapter. When I finally figured out what was all wrong I had to replace a battery that Apple replaced because of a recall for me 5 months ago and my power adapter.

Why would Apple replace a recalled battery with a battery that holds a charge for 5 months? AND why would they refuse to replace a faulty battery, that they sent me after only 5 months of regular use? All I can say is that's ridiculous, Apple covers every new battery with a standard 1 year warranty and refurbished ones only have a 90 days... Why give out a substandard product and expect people to just deal with it?

Bottom Line: I bought Apple Care to be supported, and I shouldn't have to spend hours of my time over several days, to end up spending $200 to fix my laptop.

The Number 23
Elicia and I went to see The Number 23 last night and I would have to say that it was the best movie expierences ever. No I am just kidding, but the company was nice Elicia is a great girl to me. I like her a lot and she is willing to go see wierd Jim Carrey movies with me.

Anyways, on to the review... this is one of Jim Carrey's best I would say. I think the role he plays in this movie goes right to the type of character he is. Twisted, yet funny. Serious, yet laid back, all of it was in this movie. Now don't get me wrong, this is not the best movie Jim Carrey has been in (I personally think The Truman Show is the best), but his depth as an actor was shown in this movie. He was very believable as an obsessed, paranoid in this film [sarcasm]what a shock[/sarcasm]. I give this one a 8 out of 10, but my rating may be biased... I didn't really watch the whole film... I had this very cute girl next to me that I had to look at once in a while :) Trust me that's all I did... you can ask her :) Jim Carrey fans unite, and go see The Number 23.

A New Year, another chance at change
Well, I have really thought a lot this weekend about what 2007 will bring me. I have had some disappointments and tring situations, but things overall last year were good. I look forward this year to really focusing on my relationship with Christ. He is and can only be the one I go to for strength. I know life for me is good and that is what worries me at times. Am I striving for all the best things for me, or am I really doing what He has called me to do? Why do things seem so complicated at times? Why do I struggle with simple things? I truely think it's God's way of telling me that I need to pursue Him more, yet that seems easier said than done.

At BSF, the bible study I have been going to I have been really encouraged by our study of Romans. So I am making a theme verse for 2007: "Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law was powerless to do in that it was weakened by the sinful nature..." Romans 8:1-3a

Night at the Museum
First of all, rumors of my website death are horribly mistaken. It's a really long story, and I don't want to type a long explanation, so I will spare you and myself the trouble. Bottom line: I am still here and I am here to stay... as long as I have a competent web host.

Anyways, enough of that, on to more important things. I went and saw Night at the Museum with a good friend of mine, Steph, a little while ago. What can I say about this film. Uhmmmm.... I was surprised by this film. Ben Stiller did an excellent job selling this film. He was not over the top obnoxious or just trying to be funny for no reason like I normally get in a film (e.g. Zoolander or Meet the Parents). Robin Williams was also very good in this film and I think the chemistry between Stiller and Williams was great. Ohhh ohh... I almost forgot about Dick Van Dyke, Micky Rooney, and Bill Cobbs were hi-larious. These 3 alone were worth the price of admission. Okay, so what do I give this film... how bout a 7 out of 10. This is a great movie to watch, even if you aren't taking your 5-12 year old relative(s) with you. The cast is funny and the plot is unbelievable, but hey it's a movie... you don't pay for a ticket for "Realistic Night at the Museum" That's all for now.

New Support Procedure
Due to circumstances beyond my control, I am forced to change the support of Kashier. So I have to pull the Kashier Support Forums and support Kashier on an email basis for the time being. I have plans to create a newsgroup or mailing list feed in the future, if needed but I would have to set that up. Thanks to all who use Kashier and have a Happy New Year.

Deja Vu
Well... after several months off for no reason other than the fact that I don't have time, I went to the movies for the first time this Fall and saw Deja Vu with Denzel Washington, Batman (Val Kilmer), and Jesus (Jim Caviezel). I have to say, this is one of the most unique Sci-Fi movies I have seen in a while and I really enjoyed just taking in this expierence. Oh... and the supporting actress, Paula Patton, who looks a lot like Halle Berry, was amazing. I have to admit I was expecting this to be a good movie, and I was not disappointed. Overall, this movie gets a 8 out of 10 for me. Sci-Fi fans will like this movie, and for people who can get past the whole plot line and realize this is a movie will enjoy it as well.

Romans 4
Well... I came to an interesting point in my life. Realizations that my life is more complicated than I thought. I have always thought God has put me on a track that always makes sense. But recently, being totally honest with myself, I realized that I am confused. Wrapped up into many things that I don't understand. Unable to do what I really desire and doing what others expect me to do because that is what my life has always been about: pleasing others. When I was a kid, that's all I did was do my best to please my parents and look for their approval.

But God wants something else from me (from all of us). Abraham was called to do things that didn't make all that much sense and yet he did them, and in that he was declared righteous. Listening to God is the only important thing in life. "18 Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him..." God has promised me things and I don't understand how that will be. I also don't see how these promises will come true for me. God is calling me to have faith, faith like Abram (meaning father of many), then given a new name: Abraham (meaning father of a great multitude) yet at that time Abraham didn't have a child and his wife, Sarah, was way to old to bear a child. I want my new name. I want to believe against all hope that God will deliver me. Help me God.

Free Derek Webb

Okay so it's been a while since I last posted... who cares? I don't know if you do. Anywho much to talk about anyway. So I say today on an email I receieved, I saw at the bottom FreeDerekWebb.com and I said to myself (knowing that Derek Webb is a Christian music artist) "Is Derek Webb in jail? How could that happen?" Well he isn't, he is just giving away his new CD, Mockingbird, away for free. That's right free, and this is no slouch CD. It's 11 tracks on iTunes and it's normally $10. 4 stars, 31 reviews all positive so yeah... I am happy about that. Next post, my dream came true a week and a half ago and I am just now going to post about it.

Apple Store!!!!

Apple Store Village Pointe :)

SOOOOO.... what can I say but Apple is offically in Omaha and it's the greatest thing in the world. I am so happy that the Apple store is offically here and it's almost hard to believe that we have one so close. I can remember the day like yesterday... but really it was a week and 3 days ago...

I was camping outside of the store waiting for it to open. There was about 10-12 of us initially and it grew to about 20 at about 4:00 A.M. By 8:30 there were at least 150 people in line and by 9:35ish (the store opened at 10:00) the line hooked around Village Pointe and almost reached the parking lot. At last count, there were 300 people in line waiting for it to open. My brother and I were numbers 4 and 5. Eleven hours of waiting outside truly paid off and the moment we got to go in, I was still in shock. I thought it was a dream, but it really wasn't It was such a great morning. So far I have manged to go on 4 more occations, and I can say without a doubt it's just simply an amazing store. I can't wait to see what happens to the culture of computers now that we have an Apple Store. September 23rd, 2006; this is an unforgetable day in Omaha history.
