I Am Legend
Ahh... my good old blog... what happened to me this last month or so... I guess I have been really busy. Okay, enough talk, down to business. I Am Legend starring Will Smith is GOOD. I mean really really good. This is one of the best movies I have seen this year. I am a fan of all types of movies and I have to say that this is the first Suspense/Horror film that I have lived up to its billing. It's been a long time coming. From Blair Witch to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre... None of them have stacked up. Open Water was the last Horror film that made me cringe... but that movie is more like a documentary. There aren't zombies or mummies or some stupid guy in a ski mask.

Okay... back to I Am Legend. Why did this film keep me in suspense? I really don't know... maybe it's Will, maybe cause it has more of a Sci-Fi feel to the movie. Or maybe its because there is a SWEET Mustang at the beginning of this film. Okay, maybe not that... but it helps :) I guess overall this movie had a more realistic feel to it. A lot of the action was shot with free cameras not tied to a tripod, which added to the realism. I also just had the feeling that, it could have been me all alone in New York. I don't know... it just struck a cord with me (maybe cause Will is black too... lol). I give this movie a 9 out of 10. I'm making up for lost time on this one. Will did an excellent job selling this one and if you like suspense, add this one to the collection of good, kitty litter free, movies.

The Brave One
[GASP] Dare I do two posts in 2 days. I say... I guess I am making up for lost time. So tonight Elicia and I went and saw The Brave One starring Jodie Foster and Terrence Howard. Well... what can I say about this one. I saw the trailers and thought to my self: "Self I think this will be a good movie, but I won't get my hopes up." Because I have seen so many movies in the past that have disappointed me. Nevertheless, I still go and watch these things (like a good consumer). I digress so back to what I thought.

This was a very intense film. There is a lot of action (you know shooting and stuff). This film kept a good pace throughout and is definitely one worth seeing. I thought that Jodie and Terrence did an excellent job selling this movie and the plot was motivating enough to see what would come up next. Soo... what to give a film like this one..... Hmmmmmm..... I dunno. Elicia says to give it a 9 out of 10... I will say 8.5 which I guess rounds to a 9, but I am sticking to the Olympic scoring system on this one. If you are a Foster or Howard fan, go see this film.

The Game Plan
Well... I have been really bad about updating this thing in a LOOOOONG time. But after 2 different hosting companies and various problems with email forwarding I haven't felt like I could easily make posts. Anyways The Game Plan with "The Rock" and Madison Pettis is your classic family movie. Disney did a great job of telling this story and Dwayne definitely had fun making this film. He has come a long way since his first years in film after wrestling. Elicia and I liked it and I will give this film a 8 out of 10. Great family movie to go see with the little ones. And the best part, Kingman's crib is sooo awesome.

3000+
I am pleased to announce that according to my numbers... Kashier has been downloaded over 3000 times. I am really excited for the future of Apple with Leopard and Dashboard widget development. The future is bright and I am trying my best to contribute my part to that. It makes me so happy that a lone developer with a passion for helping people and wanting to make life better can do that in a small way. I am encouraged by what I see in technology and I am looking forward to contributing more to this constantly thriving community. Thanks to all who use Kashier. More to come soon.

Spiderman 3
Spiderman, Spiderman... da da da da da Spiderman. Well, Spiderman 3 came out this last weekend and I have to say that I was rather disappointed in the third offering. Don't get me wrong, I guess I had big expectations for this movie, but it was publicized as such as well. So I guess I just needed to have more of an open mind to this one. I just felt like there is so much more they could have done in this film. The SE and CG work were amazing, but I just felt like there was really no plot development and the whole movie could have been accomplished in an hour. For the third of it's kind, Spiderman has slipped a little for me. The 2nd one is definitely better, and the first one is still at the bottom of my list. I give this one a 7 out of 10. Venom was great to see on screen, there is a good message behind this film, and I really thought it was a well put together but the plot was lacking to me.

Turner County High School
I was reading Digg today and saw a link to this CNN article about Turner County High School. According to the article this year they had their first integrated prom. Which begs the question for me: How many other counties still have segregated proms, and why? I am just awestruck that in todays society, things like this still go on. After reading on, I find out that some of the students still attended a "white" prom while others weren't allowed to go to the integrated one.

Why? Because "[their parents] don't agree with being with the colored people". This for me is the #1 thing that scares me the most. Society today has a lot of things that are going wrong and racism is one that is supposedly "better today than it was yesterday". I disagree. I feel like it's worse because it's not as obvious. Things like this only remind me of that fact. I really wish that someday Dr. King's Dream could come true for everybody in America; the country that is best geared to make this dream a reality. However, the more things change the more they really are the same I guess.

I guess there is a lighter side to this whole thing and that is there is hope for the future. A vast majority of American youth today don't know life segregated and the future will be much brighter that way. I think the problems that society faces with racism today will be different tomorrow, but I don't think it will ever go away. I just pray that God can help America make a society that closely resembles Heaven because in Heaven, there will be people of all races praising God and worshiping together.

April reflections
Well... I haven't posted in a while so I thought I would today. Sundays for me as of late have been quite reflective and today is no different. Life for me at this time has become what I am calling simply complicated. Complicated cause there are a lot of things I cannot understand. But simple cause I know how to find the answer. Three weeks ago I gave my testimony at church and since then I have been doing a lot of thinking. God will sustain me through everything I am struggling with, but it is up to me to trust him.

But why when everything from the exterior seems to be right in life, but things on the interior are chaos. I think in this God is teaching me to trust him. I can't understand everything... I am not paid to understand. I know things will be different in time... the important thing is to be patient and wait for God's time. He is always perfect in His timing. God give me the patient to wait for your timing and guidance in everything. Help me to trust in you, I know you will sustain me.

Premonition
My Elibaby and I went and saw Premonition starring Sandra Bullock and Julian McMahon. This was a fun time. I love thought provoking movies. The whole idea that you would live days out of order cause me to understand that time is just another variable in life. If God wanted to, He could make us live life out of order or live one day over and over again, like the movie Groundhog's Day. But Premonition posed a slightly different, more unique concept.

Anyways... haven't really talked about many of the details. I loved the premise of this film and Sandra and Julian had some really good scenes in this movie. Some of the other characters seemed really off. It was just a little over the top at times for me. Other than that... this was Sandra's film... She made this film believable and filled with drama (which is good cause it is a touted as a drama, mystery, thiller according to IMDB). I give this film a 7 out of 10. Good movie to take that special someone too... definitely :)

Rip Open the Skies!
Remedy Drive... for free

Yeah... I don't quite understand artist today, but eh. Remedy Drive is giving away their new record, Rip Open the Skies... and lemme tell you, it's awesome. All you have to do is go to their website and fill in your email address and that's it. I have personally heard this album before and my favorite is Statues by a large margin. Okay, maybe not... but every time I think of Remedy Drive this song pops in my head.
